“Being Thankful” for our brave men and women who have fought for our freedom!

Dear Partners and Friends,

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace , whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” (Isaiah 26:3 – KJV)

It is a challenge to stay in peace when the clamor of the world is trying to pull us in many different directions to get us off the plan that God has called us to. . . and that is to pray as His people.

II Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. KJV

The Old Testament and the New Testament reveal to us God’s Plan “for His Plan to be fulfilled” is to pray. What is prayer? Prayer is talking to God about concerns, which you want to be resolved according to His Will, which He promises in His Word.

Praying is the first thing we should do, rather than think of ways we should try to correct the matter, and fail. We always need God’s wisdom.

James 1:5-85 If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6 But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does. NIV

God is our Heavenly Father, and we should gladly pray, knowing He desires to fix it. Run to Him in Jesus’ Name, ask Him, and exercise faith in God to bring it to pass in the Name of Jesus! Make your prayers known to Him in your native language and in tongues in the Spirit. He will answer you, if you are expecting, with a grateful heart. If your heart is not grateful, seek the Lord about it, and He will help you.

I love the way Jesus spoke to His disciples after The Last Supper.

John 16:23-2423 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. KJV

Being thankful” to God for answering our prayers is vital to our receiving! As a child in the first grade, we were shown the picture of the Pilgrims and Indians eating a turkey together at a table in the woods with their heads bowed together in prayer. My first impression was, “What is this all about—coats on, eating outdoors, their skin colors different, and how quiet it looked.” Later on in school we learned—they prayed, and America is our “free country” because of prayer! What a sacrifice they paid for freedom of religion!

Remember the picture of George Washington kneeling and praying at Valley Forge to win the battle against Great Britain, and the prayer was answered! I love to rejoice and sing our National Anthem, “The Star Spangled Banner”, “America the Beautiful”, “I’m Proud to be an American”, and more!

I’ve poured out my heart to you today to pray, because I know as Christians, God has given us the power and authority over the enemy of America to redeem the course of events! He expects us to fight the good fight of faith with the power of prayer to keep America free until He comes again to set up His Kingdom!

“There is but one power available to redeem the course of events, and that is the power of prayer by God-fearing, Christ-believing people.” (A quote by Rev. Billy Graham)

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.”(Ps. 33:12 – NIV)

October 2013 - from Hilda and June's Testimony

October2013

Dear Friends,

Today I want to introduce to you my daughter, June Cherry, from Cornelius ,North Carolina, Lake Norman area. June and her husband, John, State Farm Agent in Huntersville, NC, have two married daughters and three grandchildren.

For the past eight years June has been faithfully teaching Women’s Bible Studies at Grace Covenant Church in Cornelius, NC where she and John are faithful members. June and John are members of Brittain Ministries Board with June as Vice-President, and me as President.

Today ,I want to introduce June as a Teacher to the Body of Christ called into the Five-Fold Ministry. Her testimony of her calling is as follows:

June speaking:

“The Lord changed the direction of my ministry suddenly. The Holy Spirit spoke to me in June of 2012. I was watching a Christian program on God TV when the Lord said, “June”, and I said, “Yes, Lord.” He said, “I want you to do something different for me.” I said, “OK—what?” He said, “I want you to go off campus from the church and teach what I want you to teach.” I knew by the Holy Spirit that He wanted me to teach Faith and not facilitate. I said, “OK, Lord, but where will I do that?” He said, “Why do you think the space in your building in Huntersville that you have been trying to lease has not been leased yet???” I said, “Oh, wow, I get it NOW!” Then I asked Him, “Where will I get chairs, microphones, and all the things I need for the space?”

I did not get an answer, but several days later, Pastors Bradley and Sheila Spencer, from my home church, Healing Springs Church in Hickory, NC called me to ask if John and I had any space in our building that they could rent for Healing Springs Church in Charlotte. I said, “We sure do, but I need to use the space once a week for my Bible Study.” (which I hadn’t started yet)

The Pastors looked at the space and said they wanted to lease it. They furnished the space and let me use the equipment. Hallelujah! We meet every Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Come join us—we are growing! Call me at (704) 661-1485 for the location address in Huntersville, NC.

God worked it all out. All I had to do was to say, “Yes, Lord, I will do what you called me to do.” I didn’t know what it would belike—leaving my women of eight years at Grace, whom I have ministered to. I felt comfortable there, secure and loved and appreciated by them and the ministry staff at the church. BUT, I know being obedient to the LORD’S call is far BETTER than I could have imagined. He has blessed me over and beyond my expectation. By stepping into the NEW call, I have grown spiritually and TRUSTHIM more NOW than I ever have. I encourage you to listen to HIM and be obedient.

Obedience is worth the sacrifice!”

In His Love,

October2013

Dear Friends,

As I was teaching my Tuesday night Bible study, the Lord impressed upon me to share these truths with you. This class of men and women are hearing the Word and applying it in their lives. I can see the transformation played out in my class. The results are amazing, and they are learning who they are in Christ. (John8:32) “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” KJV

We have been studying about “deception”. (1Cor 15:33) “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.” KJV(1Peter 5:8) “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” KJV

We are in a spiritual battle every day, and as Christ’s followers we should ask, “Are we too often letting our guard down?” It is so important to put a WATCH on our thought life – what we see, read or listen to. David (a man after God’s own heart) said in Psalms101:3, “I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes.” KJV

We need to say,“I will not watch anything wicked. I refuse to paint a picture on the inside of me of anger, hate, strife etc. and let these things open up a negative spiritual power.”We can’t be tempted by what we don’t think. (Hebrews11:15) If we don’t allow negative thoughts to stay in us, then we can’t be tempted. You simply can’t maintain your spiritual equilibrium while indulging your eyes on ungodliness.

We know God’s Word, and we have the Holy Spirit in us to lead us and guide us into all truth. He warns us, if we are listening, not to indulge into that worldly situation you might be getting ready to do. Let’s be smart and listen for that first warning from the Holy Spirit, and say NO to indulge in the world’s way. Many times we have said, “OH, it won’t hurt me to watch this – I can handle it.” Well can you?

You are unaware that the negative thought has just come into you and is making an inroad of destruction that you will have to deal with later. Nip it, Nip it in the bud as Barney would say. Learn to respond quickly to the warnings. Staying in God’s Word and praying in the Holy Ghost will also keep you on track and realizing how important it is to stay alert and listening to the Holy Spirit. Remember the Word says, be sober, be viligent, be smart, be alert, be watchful, and be self-controlled. You know the devil is trying to destroy our lives. God is greater ,and God is trying to get His anointing, power, and blessings into our lives. You will see the blessings in your life by yielding your time to fellowshipping with the Lord and praying and walking in obedience!

I pray this has been a wakeup call for you as it has been for me. God is faithful, and the Holy Spirit is always available 24/7 to teach us and guide us into all truth. God bless you as you continue in your walk with HIM.

In His Service,

June Cherry

August 2013 - A Day to Remember The Sparrow

A Day to Remember When The Lord Sent A Sparrow To Me With A Message Of Assurance

The setting for this time of visitation was in my kitchen on Thursday, July 18, 2013, at 4:00 p.m. You, who have been in my kitchen, know that you can sit at my counter and see outside through the back porch door to the pool house and the small yard with seasonal flowers and a hedge. My kitchen, when not in use for physical food, is my place to study my Bible, pray and minister to others.

On this particular day, I had allowed myself to become “heavy laden” with a friend’s problem. I was wanting to see them set free and move forward in faith to overcome their circumstances! I had to admit the years of ministry to them was not producing fruit, and I was sorry. Can you picture this scene? I hope so. Finally I cried out to God to solve their problems and give me peace. Amen! (What a prayer! But God heard it!)

In times past while seeking the Lord in prayer, Ralph and I, and now me, would see a red bird fly by, and then rest on the metal handrail beside the picnic table where we could watch his behavior as he looked at us. Needless to say, his arrival would confirm the scripture that God will never leave us nor forsake us!

At this time I began to hear a bird chirping, and I started whistling his chirps back to him. This went on for a few minutes. I noticed his chirps were getting louder and sounded close to me. So I got up from my chair, walked to the back porch door to see where the bird was. I looked out to the driveway, and I couldn’t see a bird. Then I looked down at the three steps and there he was on the “top” step in the middle of the step looking straight up at me and chirping. I looked down at him through the door. He looked like a mature bird who could fly but preferred to stand there “talking” to me. His eyes were on me, and they looked like living water. His feet shone like they had just been bathed. His feathers were light brown, tan flecked and yellow fluffy, and he stared at me! He chirped, and I chirped looking down at him for “ten minutes” without moving. (We were in space with the minutes.)

I heard the Lord say to me, “I’ve heard your prayer, and I will take care of the matter.” Then the bird turned around, hopped down the three steps onto the driveway, turned around and looked at me, chirped again, and hopped across the driveway toward my “filled-in” pool. He looked at me and chirped again, hopped up the walkway to the pool, and into the grass. Then he turned around, looked at me, chirped goodbye and flew away with the wings spread like a B-17 taking off. I watched him fly high and away knowing I had experienced a visitation from the Lord!

Am I giving any thought to worry anymore about the matter of that friend’s plight? No, because God said, “He would take care of the matter”, and I am trusting in the Lord to do that with all of my heart!

Prov3:5-65Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.6In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. KJV

Trusting the Lord,

June 2013 - The Way, The Truth, and The Life

June 2013

Dear Partners and Friends,

Are you tired of being tired, and desire to change? Are you desiring to experience more love, joy and peace? If that is you, I want to offer you a way to change—His Name is Jesus, who is THE WAY,THE TRUTH and THE LIFE.

John 14:6

6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way , the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. KJV

Let’s go back to the “basics” and fall in love with Jesus again by giving the Word first place in our thoughts and life. Then start speaking out loud what the Word says concerning you and your situation.

John 3:16

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. KJV

The Bible is filled with promises, which are ours to “Believe” and “Receive”. The Bible says—I am blessed in all things with spiritual blessings.

Eph 1:3

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: KJV

I am healed and made whole by the stripes of Jesus.

1 Peter 2:24

24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. KJV

I am prosperous, because I give, and it shall be given unto me . . .

Luke 6:38

38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. KJV

Release your hold on your hand to let the money go to be used to further the Kingdom of God, and then you will be prosperous.

The “key word” to release yourself to be all God says we are to be is “TRUST”.

Prov 3:5-6

5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. KJV

Ralph and I would quote the Word back and forth. Each word made a deposit in our hearts to believe.

Are you feeling any better now? The Word works, and your desire to actin faith is stronger.

There is more to this life than you can declare. Start declaring VICTORY, and you will receive more love, more joy and more peace!

Have a great summer—keep on falling in love with Jesus and walk in victory! Jesus made The Way, so walk in it!

God bless you,

Love,

Hilda
